About Me

Photography is a passion of mine. I have always enjoyed taking pictures and documenting life. It started when I was a young girl, but really grew even more when I had my own children and started documenting their everyday life with photos. Capturing the pure sweet innocence of a child is truly special. My motto is Keep It Simple and I love the look of natural light. To me, it's the most beautiful and flattering light and it's free...from Mother Nature! I have committed myself to using 100% natural light in my photography, both indoors and out and feel it captures who you are and your personality. My style is relaxed, natural and unposed and I believe that it represents your true spirit and uniqueness in a way that posed photographs cannot. I want to capture who you "are", not just what you "look" like. I strive to create memories with honesty, beauty and for the photos to tell a story and have that documentary feel. I do not like the words "Say Cheese" and they are not allowed. I love to connect with my clients in a fun, playful, and sometimes silly way, especially with children. A session with me is like a playdate. I don't expect much, except for all to just be themselves, have fun, and laugh. I'm not out to create the "perfect, flawless, traditional portrait". Life isn't that way. I want you to be real, be you and to be "perfectly imperfect"! I use very little props and most of the time, I don't use them. Sometimes I will use a backdrop, especially for shots with newborns, but for the majority, I use the surrounding we are in, whether it's your home or another location, as the backdrop. Why photograph like this, you may ask? Because it's real, it's life, it reflects who you are and captures your lifestyle. It shows emotion and true inner beauty.

{ABOUT LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY}

Compared to traditional photography, lifestyle photography is less posed, less stiff, more natural, and more expressive. It also highlights the importance of storytelling and emotion and places a great emphasis on relationships. It's not only about how you capture, but what you capture - "more moments in time" as opposed to "manufactured illusions". A lifestyle photographer is just as likely to photograph a child's tantrum or mood as well as their big, toothy smile. It not only reflects one's likeness, but also one's personalities - moods, dreams, goofiness, quirks and all. A common response to this type of photography is when I hear a mom say, "That is so him" or "Look at that, I love the laughing they are doing." That is what I want to hear when you see your images. Instead of being told to sit, children are told to play, to be free, and to interact with each other naturally. The goal in this type of photography and what is at the root of it is wanting to capture genuine emotion. Real natural, real emotion, capturing real life.

Aside from being a photographer, I am a mom to 7 great kids and wife to one sweet guy.

{SESSION FEE & INFO}

$75.00. No time or photo limit. Sessions usually take from 1-3 hours, usually there are from 20-40 proofs to view. Your choice of location, color and B&W photos, clothing changes if desired. Fee is for my time, talent, editing process and one 5x7 or 8x10 size print of your choice.
About 2 weeks (sometimes earlier) you can view your proofed images on my online photo gallery. Other family members will be able to view as well. Great for grandparents that live far away. You will then call me and place your order. Online gallery is usually left up for about 2 weeks.

{MATERNITY/NEWBORN SESSION}

$125.00. Includes 2 sessions, one maternity around 30-35 weeks or so, and one newborn done in the first 4 weeks after birth (the sooner the better to get those newborn sleepy shots, most popular time is at 1-2 weeks old). You also get 25 birth announcements with envelopes. You will have a choice of 2 designs and colors can be customized to your liking.

$30 design fee which includes consultation, 2 sample designs and 2 revisions per storyboard. Does not include print price. Print prices are noted above.

{GALLERY WRAP CANVAS}

Your print professionally printed and wrapped around edges on quality canvas. Prices start at $150 for 16x20 size.

A CD of your session images set to music for playback on your computer. $40.00

Clients will receive a $50 print credit good on their next session for every friend referred to me and $10 off their next session fee (upon completion of friend's session).
